How TextSnap Works

When you use TextSnap, the extension:

• Operates on the current web page to perform its function
• Stores your preferences and settings in Chrome's local storage
• Never transmits any data to external servers
• Never collects personal information or browsing history

Permissions Used

TextSnap only requests the permissions strictly necessary for its functionality:

• activeTab — 用于access the currently active tab to provide TextSnap features
• storage — 用于store your settings and preferences locally using chrome.storage.local
• scripting — 用于inject content scripts into web pages for core functionality
• contextMenus — 用于add right-click menu options for quick access

Data Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:

• Your settings and preferences
• Your custom configurations and presets
• Usage statistics (if applicable — all stored locally)
• Pro license status (if activated)

All of this data stays on your device. We cannot access it, and it is never synced to any server.

Pro License Verification

When you activate a Pro license, the extension makes a single network request to verify your license key. This request only transmits your license key — no browsing data, page content, or personal information is sent.

• Purpose: Verify purchase validity
• Data sent: License key only
• No personal data is collected or stored server-side

Third-Party Services

TextSnap does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, tracking pixels, or external APIs for its core functionality. The extension is entirely self-contained.

Data Export & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Export: Use the export feature in the settings to download your configuration
• Import: Import previously exported settings
• Reset: Use the reset button to clear all data and restore defaults
• Full deletion: Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all locally stored data

Updates to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with an updated "Last Updated" date. We will never change our core commitment to not collecting user data.
