Thank you for using WebSnap! We take your privacy and personal information protection seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how WebSnap collects, uses, stores, and protects your information.

Core Principle

Information We Collect

WebSnap only collects the following minimal data:

• Extraction History: Saved in your browser's local storage for you to review and manage past extractions (up to 10 most recent entries)
• Preferences: Such as default output format, notification settings, etc.
• License Key (if applicable): If you purchase the Pro version, used to verify your authorization status
• Usage Statistics: Monthly extraction count, used for free tier limit management

Information We Do NOT Collect

WebSnap does not collect the following:

• The content of web pages you browse (processed and discarded immediately)
• Your browsing history
• Your personal identity information
• Your IP address or other network identifiers
• Any tracking data used to analyze your behavior

Data Storage

All data is stored locally in your browser (Chrome Storage):

• Data is never uploaded to any cloud server
• Data is not synced across devices
• Uninstalling the extension will automatically clear all data
• You can clear all data at any time from the Settings page

Permissions Explained

WebSnap requests the following permissions and their purposes:

• activeTab: Access the current active tab for content extraction only when you click the extension icon
• storage: Store your settings, extraction history, and usage statistics locally in the browser
• contextMenus: Create right-click menu entries for quick access to extraction features
• commands: Register keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+X) for quick extraction

Third-Party Services

The Pro version's License verification communicates with Gumroad to validate your authorization. This communication only occurs when you manually enter and verify a License Key. We do not send any information automatically.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• View, export, or delete your extraction history at any time
• Modify or reset your preferences
• Uninstall the extension to clear all local data
• Deactivate your License Key to remove authorization information

Privacy Policy Updates

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will notify you when a new version is published on the Chrome Web Store. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent changes.
