WebSnap - Privacy Policy

        Summary: WebSnap does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. All web content extraction is performed entirely within your browser. The only external communication is a license verification check for Pro users.
    

1. Data Collection

WebSnap does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, browsing data, or extracted content. All content extraction (parsing HTML, extracting text, images, links, tables, etc.) is performed locally within your browser. No data is sent to any server.

2. What the Extension Accesses

When you click the WebSnap icon, the extension accesses the following elements of the currently active tab only:

Page title, URL, and meta information
Text content and headings
Images and their attributes (src, alt)
Links (href, anchor text)
Tables and structured data
Forms and input elements (structure only, not user input)

All of this data is processed locally and displayed to you in the extension popup or exported in your chosen format (Markdown, JSON, CSV). Nothing is saved or transmitted.

3. License Verification

If you purchase a Pro license, the extension sends a license key verification request to our Cloudflare Worker at:

https://websnap-license.orangecc2025.workers.dev/verify

This request only includes the license key you enter. No browsing data, URL, or personal information is sent. The verification server does not log or store request data.

4. Local Storage

WebSnap uses chrome.storage.local to store:

Your Pro license key (for persistence across sessions)
Your preference settings (e.g., output format, theme, extraction options)

This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

5. Third-Party Services

WebSnap does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no trackers, pixels, or analytics scripts in the extension.

6. Children's Privacy

WebSnap does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
