Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how TextStack ("the Extension") handles your information when you use it in your browser. We are committed to transparency and privacy-first design.

2. Data We Collect

None. TextStack does not:

• Collect personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Track your browsing history or visited websites
• Monitor or record the text you type
• Collect analytics, usage metrics, or crash reports
• Transmit any data to external servers (except license verification)

3. Local Data Storage

All your data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local):

• Templates — Your saved text snippets and triggers
• License Information — Your Pro license key and activation status

This data never leaves your device. It persists only in your browser and is deleted when you uninstall the extension or clear browser data.

4. License Verification

The only network request the Extension makes is to verify Pro license keys. When you enter a license key:

• The license key is sent to our verification endpoint: websnap-license.orangecc2025.workers.dev
• The server responds with a valid/invalid status
• No other data is transmitted during this process
• The license key is then stored locally for offline use

This is the only external communication the Extension performs.

5. Permissions Explained

TextStack requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — Access the currently active tab to detect input fields and expand templates
• scripting — Inject the content script that monitors /trigger input in web pages
• storage — Store your templates and license information locally
• clipboardWrite — Copy formatted template content when needed
• contextMenus — Provide right-click menu option for template expansion

These are the minimum permissions required for the extension to function. No additional permissions are requested.

6. Third-Party Services

TextStack does not integrate with or transmit data to any third-party services, advertising networks, analytics platforms, or social media services. The only external endpoint is the license verification server described in Section 4.

7. Children's Privacy

TextStack does not collect any data from any user, including children under 13. The extension does not require account creation or personal information.

8. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, security depends on your browser's built-in protections. We recommend:

• Keep your browser updated
• Use device-level security (passwords, encryption)
• Do not share license keys publicly

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify users through the Chrome Web Store listing
